She was on a grassy hill, other hills one three sides if her and an ocean view ahead of her. The Golden Gate bridge could be seen across the sunny Bay Area. Trees dotted the hills, as did a few houses.
Speaking of houses, one was just to the left of her. It wasn't big, but it was comfy. Probably five rooms. A nice, spacious hard limited only by the hills. A road led from the driveway down the hill to the other houses and out of the hills.
"Nice, isn't it." a faded image of Aris stood off to the side. "Its called the Marin Headlands. Located on the other side of the Bridge as San Francisco. Quiet, isolated. Some days, beautiful like this, others, very foggy and obscure. Lance thought it'd make the perfect home for you two. He was very specific about what he wanted for you two after the Final Battle.

Jason said nothing but looked down for a molment thinking about lance. But looked back up at the amazing place

"The date is June 14, 2021. Lance's mother lives in Dallas, Texas. A few hours drive, if you want to ever visit her. She... Knows what happened." the image looked out at the bay.

He looked at it, smiling. "All the other Time Keepers had their memories wiped on the return home. The Time Zone is likely dying with me. This amulet is all that remains. We can't let anyone know about us. From now on, the fight against evil is humanity's battle." he looked up at her. "Spero... Thank you. For everything." he began to fade.

Aris smiled, and winked, then disappeared.
The birds chirped. The sun shone bright over the bay, the water sparkling even from afar. A soft breeze blew through Spero's new home.
Off in the distance, a child laughed.

(hold on, not done yet  ) PROLOGUE A man walked down a damp, dark alleyway at night. Traffic could be heard nearby, probably down the alley. He wore a kaki trench coat and hat, and shuffled a deck of cards in his hands as he walked down the alley. The playing cards were odd. They seemed to be from different decks, and some had weird symbols drawn on their backs. The man kept walking. Eventually, he reached a dead end in the alley. At the end was an old wooden table, decaying and musty. On the table was a briefcase, new and expensive. The man put the deck into the pocket of his trench coat and out his hands on the briefcase. He unlocked the clasps, and opened it. A cracked TKA amulet lay in the center of a foam casing. Also in the foam casing were some watched. The watches had odd symbols on them. A fiery bird. A metal bolt. A lightning bolt. A black knife. A sword and shield. And some others. All the watches also had the TKA symbol of a clock, moon, and sun on them. The man grinned and closed the briefcase. He picked it up and headed back down the alley. "I've put my bets on you, kid," he said, grinning. "Don't let me down." |
